You could say that new years resolutions are a pointless trend that no one ever sticks to.
You could also say that its healthy to set yourself some goals and have a vision of what you want to achieve over the next 12 months.
Advice for making your new years resolutions
Your new years resolutions can be whatever you want them to be. I look at them as more of a what do I want to achieve this year? One 5th of my 5 year plan, a 10th of my 10 year plan. It's a good idea to write these down somewhere at the start of the year and reflect back on them at the end of the year so you can see where you excelled and where you can make improvements next year. Here's a good tip for you:
Make yourself a screensaver or background for your phone with your goals & resolutions on so that every time you look at your phone it reminds you what you've set out to achieve for the year.
My 2019 New Years Resolutions
Last year I made some good progress on my resolutions for 2018 but this year I think I can do even better so here are my new years resolutions for 2019:Achieve my weight loss goal - I want this year to be the year that I complete and achieve my ultimate weight loss target.
Publish more content on my blog & youtube - I'm a naturally creative person and I love to learn new skills. Growing up I've always had an interest in music, writing, photography, scrapbooking and other creativity based activities. I used to play piano and upload covers to youtube way back in the day, I'm talking over 10 years ago here - oh my gosh I feel so old right now!
Unfortunately I've ended up doing that thing, that I assume a lot of people do, which is getting bogged down in your stereotypical dull office job and letting it take priority over all of the things I loved doing in life. I stopped doing all of the things that made me, me.
This year I really want to try and find myself again. Apart from a few highlights, 2018 has been a horrible year and I don't want to continue on the same path I'm currently on, so here's to finding ourselves!
Finish decluttering & add final touches to the house - Throughout 2018 I read and watched a lot about decluttering and minimalism and as a result have been decluttering the house more and more. It gets easier each time I do it and I find that the things I'm reluctant to get rid of initially I soon dispose of during the next session of decluttering.
This year I'd like to reach a point where everything I own has its place in a pre-existing storage space so that everything can be put away after use and I can easily maintain a neat and tidy home. At the moment I still seem to own more things than I can store and I don't want or need more storage so I just need to get rid of some more things. Downstairs is finished so its just the upstairs I need to work on now.
I also have a few photo frames that I bought AGES ago which I still need to fill and put on the wall so that's also on my to-do list.
What are your resolutions for this year?
