June 2014 Birch Box Review - My first one!

So I finally signed up to Birch Box. I'd looked at a few of the different Beauty boxes available and just couldn't make my mind up which one to sign up to. Then I heard the news... the beauty blender was available in the June Birch Box! Well hello Birch Box!

So yes it is true that my motivation for signing up to Birch Box was the possibility of receiving a Beauty Blender and boy was it worth it! I signed up for a 6 month subscription and receiving the Beauty Blender alone was worth half the price of the 6 month subscription which is absolutely amazing.

Not only did I receive the Beauty Blender in my first box but a whole stash of other goodies including a miniature O.P.I Nail Lacquer, another brand that I love!

When I first opened the Postal Box to find the smaller Birch Box inside I was surprised at how small it was. The packaging is so cute though, I think I'm going to use the box and deep set lid as trays to organise my make-up in my drawers. Inside the box was a really cute green bag that held the products. I'm also going to use the bag to store a few of my toiletries that are currently scattered around my Bathroom. I love the fact that the packaging can be used for storage and not just thrown away (or if you're like me just kept as clutter because it's too cute to throw away).

So let's talk about the products...

The Beauty Blender

I absolutely love this. Again this is a product that a lot of people rave about and I've seen people on Youtube using it and the application of foundation always looks great but I always used to think well surely thats just because they're really good at applying foundation? Surely a sponge can't magically make your foundation look amazing? Oh how wrong I was! I think if you gave a beauty blender and a liquid foundation to someone that had never applied foundation before they would still end up looking amazing. I can't even explain how easy it is to apply foundation using the Beauty Blender. The coverage you can get from the smallest amount of liquid foundation is unbelievable. It's so easy to use and in my opinion a lot faster than applying your foundation with a brush. I lot of the time I wear Bare Minerals powder foundation which I buff on with a powder brush but I think for liquid foundations, now that I have the Beauty Blender, I definitely won't be using a brush for liquids! If you do use liquid foundation, you need to treat yourself to a Beauty Blender, SERIOUSLY!

O.P.I Nail Lacquer in

I love O.P.I and I swear by their Nail Stengtheners, which I always apply before my base coat when I'm doing my nails. The colour I received is not the most wearable colour for day to day as it is a very very bright yellow. It is however perfect for summer or those exotic holidays, or if you're a complete a & utter geek like me, I'll probably wear this in support of Bumblebee when I go to see the new Transformers film along with some black stripes along the nails just like the Camero, because I'm just that cool... Ok... You can stop laughing at me now.

Birch Box Flip Flop keyring

I don't really use keyrings on my keys as I don't like having a lot of clutter on my key set. However I think this would look really nice as an added accessory to a beach bag! If you don't use Keyrings they easily double up as bag charms so think twice before just throwing them away. Also if you have a purse or anything with a zipper that's a bit dull you could always attach this to the zip making it easier to open and again just adding a nice pop of colour to it!

The Balm - How 'Bout Them Apples Cheek & Lip Balm

I really like this product. Its so smooth and creamy and I was very tempted to buy the full palette which includes 6 colours but unfortunately I thought the price was a little steep for this palette at £26.00. If you're really into your cream blushers I would however recommend these as the texture and pigmentation is amazing and they look great on the lips too!

Naobay Natural & Organic Body Radiance Lotion

This stuff smells amazing! It just smells super lemony and its so refreshing. The lotion is very light on the skin and isn't greasy but it does leave the skin feeling a little sticky whilst it soaks in and drys. This doesn't seem incredibly moisturising to me and so for now I think I will stick with my Dove Body Lotion.  I do however have quite dry skin on my legs and elbows and for the areas of my skin that are naturally more moisturised such as my forearms this did leave them feeling quite soft so it may be of better use to someone that doesn't have dry skin.

Caudalie Paris Vinoperfect - SPF15 Day perfecting fluid

Ok I have to admit I have not yet tried this product. The reason being is that I already have all my favourite skincare products that I use every day and I keep forgetting to use this instead! I will remember... one day.

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to review the Caudalie Paris Vinoperfect but once I do try it I will either update this post with the review or just do a separate post.
